Hour 12 – Halfway There Laugh Break!

Hey, y’all! I’m Dana and I will be with you for the next couple of hours. Can you believe that we are already at hour 12?! Time flies when you’re having fun.

I’ve been a co-host many times now and my favorite post I have ever done and the one that has gotten the most participation is the funny bookish memes post. So show me your best funny meme that has anything to do with reading, books, marathons etc. Here are a couple that I love.

Mid-Event Survey

1. What are you reading right now?
2. How many books have you read so far?
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?

  2. 1. What are you reading right now?
    A Wrinkle in Time (still)
    2. How many books have you read so far?
    Almost done 1.
    3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
    I’m thinking Death Note
    4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
I had to take my cat to the vet and was very sleepy and napped for about 3 hours…. oops.
    5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
I’m very tired! The minichallenges being posted all at once was surprising. I really liked the hourly surprise and felt that helped me stay commited to the whole thing.

  3. 1. What are you reading right now? I’m skipping between a few different books, but the top book for this hour is Keeping Her by Cara Cormack
    2. How many books have you read so far? I have finished 2, amd about halfway through 2 more and have 2 others in various stages of completion.
    3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon? Logging more reading hours… and maybe a couple of short naps.
    4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those? No real interruptions, though it’s taken me longer to do much hourly updates than I thought it would. I did have my wifi go down briefly, but I just did my updates a little later that hour. And I found I needed a nap much earlier than expected.
    5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? I don’t think anything has really surprised me. I over-estimated my reading speed a little, but I think that’s more because I’m reading less per hour time-wise than I estimated, not that I’m actually reading slower.

  4. 1. What are you reading right now? Shadows on the Moon audio but once I finish these questions, I will be back to reading Heir of Fire until it’s DONE!
    2. How many books have you read so far? None completed yet. I was 65% through Heir of Fire before the Readathon. I did start Shadows of the Moon today and only have about 2 hours left of it.
    3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon? Still waiting to read A Darker Shade of Magic!
    4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those? Yes, my grammy went to the hospital yesterday so that lost me quite some hours as I went with my mom to visit her. I started my Readathon a little earlier to compensate and plan on going tomorrow until I complete 24 hours READ, no matter how long it takes me. I do plan on sleeping some tonight as well.
    5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? I love that they opened the mini challenges to the whole Readathon instead of just 3-hour blocks. I don’t/didn’t check in online a lot in the past and missed a lot of them. But this time I did listen to my audiobook every time I went online so I was still reading!

Yes, I was cohosting for three hours and didn’t feel like I could audiobook during that time and then two trips to the puppy park where I was being too social for an audiobook. I just knew in advance I’d be reading mostly in the evening hours and some afternoon ones.
    5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? How much fun cohosting was but very time consuming! 🙂
