Cherokee Village, Arkansas – Population 4,671
I’ve now been here two years, taking care of my Mom, who is now 91! She spends her days reading so every day is a readathon for her.
    2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
I only have a little stack of two books. Turtles All The Way Down is a very curious title. I’m most looking forward to that one so I will finally know what the heck that title means! I have no idea what the book is about. I got in on that freakish Book Riot / Amazon deal where the hardcover was posted for $2.99 by mistake or something.
    3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
Either Taco Bell or onion rings and a chocolate shake from Sonic!
    4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
Living in Arkansas has made me realize that happiness really is a choice. Not everyone knows how to or is capable of making that choice, of course.
    5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
I’ve participated in countless readathons. One thing I’m doing differently this time is not stressing out about snacks! I’ve finally accepted the fact I’m not really a snacker and that I’d rather just make a Taco Bell run for lunch and / or indulge in a chili cheese dog, some onion rings with ranch, and a chocolate shake from Sonic for dinner. The only time I get a fast food fix is on weekends, and that’s what I really, really want.

    4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
I told the husband and kids they have to fend for themselves today because I’m spending the day reading for the readathon!
    5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
I didn’t participate in the last one but I did do one a couple years ago. I have quick foods this time and I think I didn’t last time.

  40. Hello everyone! Happy readathon day!
I’m reading in beautiful North Salem Indiana. I’m house sitting for my best friend who is on her honeymoon! She has 2 elder pugs that can’t be boarded. I’d better get this survey done quick while I still have an internet signal! I’m definitely out in the sticks here.
The book I’m most looking forward to is Rebecca, by Daphne Du Maurier. I love gothic romance!
The snack I’m most looking forward to is the Oreo cookies and milk I saved especially for the readathon!
I’m 40 years old, newly single again after 21 years, and I work as a billing technician in a long term care pharmacy. No kids, but I do have a pitbull named Darla, and an American bulldog/hound mix named Sid. They were both rescued from the Humane Society, and they are so loveable and fun!
This is my 9th readathon, and I’m definitely going to get more reading in than usual, since my internet signal is so weak out here!
