Hour 5 – Social Reading

And one last time, this is Kait from Kait Plus Books, here with all the excessive gifs and exclamation points!

How does reading change when we do it together? Whether that means reading the same books or just reading together at the same time (hi readathon!), I think it makes a difference when we know that other people are reading with us.

I love readathons and other social reading because it makes me feel connected to other people. What about you? Do you enjoy the community that comes together for things like Readathon? Or do you just like having an entire day to set everything aside and just read? It could be both! Let me know in the comments and have a happy readathon!

I’m signing off here for the last time (today), but I’ll still be updating my blog and mini game all day! Come visit me and say hi!

Hour 4 – Five Word Books

Hello hello! Kait from Kait Plus Books here again for another hour of cohosting! This time, I want us all to have some fun!

I saw a post from Epic Reads the other day called “Can You Guess The Book Based On These Five-Word Summaries?” and after clicking on it and taking the quiz (I only missed 1!), I decided to try and make my own. I had tons of fun putting it together! You can see it for yourself right here!

Do you think you would enjoy playing a game like this? I know that I would love it! Let me know if you got any of mine correct in the comments and happy reading!

Hour 3- Let’s Talk About#TBRs!

Hi everyone! Kait here from Kait Plus Books. I’ll be here with you for the next few hours, so grab your books and let’s get started!

I love making #tbrs. I’m horrible at actually sticking to them, but I love the excitement and anticipation I feel putting them together. What books do I want to read next? If I read three fantasy books in a row, will I want to read even more when I’m finished, or do I need a genre switch?

Usually, I fill my Readathon #tbr up with a dozen or so graphic novels and novellas, but this time I only have one book on it. Granted, it’s a 517 page book, but still! I’m shocked I haven’t padded it with shorter reads!

How many books are on your Readathon #tbr? Are they long books or shorter ones? Are you good at sticking to them or do you wander away from them like I do? Let me know in the comments and happy reading!

Hour 8 – Keeping Track of All These Books!

Hello again! Kait from Kait Plus Books back for one more hour on here, and this time I want to talk about keeping track of all these books we’re reading!

At the beginning of this year, I started using a physical reading journal to keep track of all my reading. I’m not always great at keeping track every day, but I’ve kept up with it for the most part for almost four months now! This helps me keep track of how many pages I’m reading each day, even when I’m reading digital arcs or fanfic on my phone.

For keeping track digitally I use Goodreads, my blog, StoryGraph, and I just signed up for the waiting list for Readerly! (Feel free to follow/friend me on all the things I’ve linked!) Goodreads and StoryGraph are both right on my phone so that I can always update while I’m reading. I love the digital trackers because in addition to letting me see what I’m reading and when, they’re also social apps. I really enjoy seeing what other people are reading, and what they think about books that I’m reading, and all the ways that readers can read the same books and have completely different reactions! In real life I hate being social, but online I’m here for all the bookish socializing!

How do you keep track of what you’re reading? Do you use a physical planner/journal or do you keep track digitally? Do you just use one app or do you use three dozen? Tell me what you use and how it’s working for you!

Okay, that’s it for me on here! Come visit me on Kait Plus Books and I’ll see you at hour 11 for my mini challenge and hour 12 for my twitter party! I hope you all have a splendiferous readathon!

Hour 7 – Switch It Up!

Hi everyone! Kait here from Kait Plus Books, ready to take over the world read with you for the next couple of hours!

here’s what I’ve been doing/am currently doing/will continue to do all night…

The first thing I want to ask you is… what are you reading? Are you a ‘Readathon is the perfect time for me to crack open a 600 page book’ kind of person, or a ‘Readathon is a great time to read all those graphic novels’ kind of person? (I’m definitely the latter!)

I may only finish a few books today, but my #tbr is approximately three thousand books long…

No matter what you’ve read so far (and by the way- I’m really proud of you for reading so much today!), I encourage you to switch it up a little this hour! My #tbr for today ranges from Baby-Sitters Club graphic novels, to new audiobooks (thanks hoopla!), to YA novels I need to read and review. Readathon is the perfect time to switch back and forth between formats and genres and age groups!

bsc!!!

Take some time this hour to switch it up a little, and be sure to come visit me over on the readathon twitter! Steph also has a great mini challenge going on right now so make sure you check that out!
