Oh my goodness, you guys, this has been a blast! Thank you so much to everyone who participated and to the amazing ladies who volunteered, whether through co-hosting, Twitter Party Hosting, Mini-Challenge Creators, Goodreads Co-Mods… you were all so amazing and a delight to work with.

We do have our final Reading Sprint this hour on the Goodreads Group. So please join us as well try to sprint to the finish line and go out on a bang!

As we announced in April, our next readathon will be hosted October 24th, so mark your calendars!

Please keep your eye out in the coming weeks for a post for Volunteers. We will be needing all kinds of volunteers for the next readathon, as it is the first full event that Gabby and I will be hosting. We would love to have some volunteers to write warm up posts, volunteer prizes, host mini-challenges, and co-hosts on the blog. In the meantime, please take a moment to fill out the end of event survey and enter the books you read into the Database. Thank you for spending some time reading with us!

How would you assess your reading overall? I did ok, more sprints this time and less swapping.

Did you have a stategy, and if so, did you stick to it? Only to finish one book, just about there!

    What was your favorite snack?
    Donuts 🍩

1.How would you assess your reading overall?
My goal was to finish Black Mask Stories and I accomplished that. So I’d call this marathon a success.

    2. Did you have a strategy, and if so, did you stick to it?
No strategy. I just read, ate, and read some more. I did stop for a grocery run (leg stretch).

    3. What was your favorite snack?
    Goldfish crackers

  3. How would you assess your reading overall?

I felt like I was more focused this time than the last few readathons. I think the the availability of the quick mini-challenges helped to keep me invigorated.

Did you have a strategy, and if so, did you stick to it?

I just went through my recent kindle purchases (I have a terrible habit of buying them on sale and never reading them) and picked out four books of medium-length to help give me something to choose from if I finished the two books I for sure wanted to finish.

    What was your favorite snack?

Fresh cheese curds my in-laws had dropped of from Wisconsin! Still squeaky and delicious.

Yes! I’m bad about remembering to check for the sign-ups and but I’ll try extra-hard to remember to stay on top of it this time.

How would you assess your reading overall? Not bad for someone who did a lot of sleeping and also co-hosted!
Did you have a stategy, and if so, did you stick to it? Nope! Just have fun. Finish the two books I already had going and get done a good chunk of another. Done and done!
What was your favorite snack? I’m not a big snacker but my pizza dinner was perfect.
Wanna volunteer for our next event? YES. I loved helping out this time around. It was an absolute delight. I especially enjoyed my time on Twitter. My obsession with Twitter actually came in handy for once!! Haha

  5. How would you assess your reading overall? I felt like I was reading a little bit of everything. I was able to get a lot of reading done, but I didn’t focus on anything in particular.
Did you have a stategy, and if so, did you stick to it? I did not have a strategy, which is probably why I didn’t have a focus on just a few books. I will have one in place for next time.
What was your favorite snack? Pizza

  6. How would you assess your reading overall?
I think it didn’t stray too much from how many books I normally read. I’m glad I stuck with it though. I was in a reasing slump and then this challenge came along and I can’t wait to dive back into my books.

Did you have a stategy, and if so, did you stick to it?
No real strategy other than to try my best to het more than 2 books read.

    What was your favorite snack?
Tortilla chips with salsa con queso

Wanna volunteer for our next event?
I think I would LOVE that!!!

    1) How would you assess your reading overall?
I did well, more importantly, I enjoyed myself.
    2) Did you have a strategy, and if so, did you stick to it?
Nope! But I did stick to my randomly generated reading order so that was cool!
    3) What was your favorite snack?
    Everything. Food is good. lol.
    4) Wanna volunteer for our next event?
Possibly! We’ll see what happens as we get closer to October 24!

  8. 1) How would you assess your reading overall.
I finished four books and made inroads into another three, as well as listened to an audiobook when my eyes got too tired to read. My comprehension wasn’t at the same level all the time, and towards the end I was rushing to finish bingo squares rather than really appreciating the reading.

    2) Did you have a strategy, and if so, did you stick to it?
My main strategy was to fill all the squares and to read as much as possible over the 24 hours. I did stick to that, but I think if I’d picked a couple of shorter books, I would have completed more books rather than having three unfinished books that I read to cover squares.

    3) What was your favorite snack?
Picking away at a rotisserie chicken. I was really looking forward to chips and dip, but I bought the wrong type of chips and an unsatisfying dip. Not that it stopped me from eating them…

    4) Wanna volunteer for our next event?
It would depend on my work situation in October. At the moment, I likely wouldn’t be able to commit to anything else, but who knows where things will be in two months.

  10. How would you assess your reading overall? Like a train that left the station and never looked back– I fell into my age-old reading habits and it was fabulous!

Did you have a strategy, and if so, did you stick to it? I had some books already picked out to make sure I could get to the blackout BINGO. But I still pick by mood, so I did get mos of them read AND got the blackout.

What was your favorite snack? Hmmm, probably the seasonal ice cream flavor from the amazing Stewart’s Shops (it’s an upstate NY thing!) called mango dragon fruit sherbet and it was like mini-explosions of delight in my mouth.

Wanna volunteer for our next event? Stay tuned for the recap post! Absolutely! I hosted a few hours of Goodreads posts and also did a blog post for the website (which I loved doing), so I will absolutely sign up. I have a blog, so I’m considering maybe throwing my hat in for a mini-challenge or hosting a giveaway.
