Hour 24 – Final Hour of the Decade… FINISH LINE!!!!

This is Kate from Kate’s Book Nook and I we are now in the final hour of the readathon! I just realized as I was sitting here to write this, that this is also the final hour of any readathons of this decade (the 20 10s). Next readathon will be in 2020, and that is so crazy to think about.

Last Hour we played Never Have I Ever. I won’t lie to you, it was pretty hard to come up with those things that I had never done. Would have been much easier if I had let myself select things that I personally had done.

With it being so close to the end and people trying to get their final push in, I thought that this hour we would do something easy for our mini challenge. Post at least one of your favorite book related gifs. Imaginary bonus points if it is about a specific book. One of my favorites is below.

Thank you so much for joining us for another amazing Readathon. I’ve loved every minute of these last few hours (and the proceeding 20). If you’ve read anything at all today, you are a winner in my books. And so, just like every other year, I will send you out with the celebration song of champions! I’ll see you all in 2020!

Closing Survey!

  1. How would you assess your reading overall?
  2. Did you have a stategy, and if so, did you stick to it?
  3. What was your favorite snack?
  4. Wanna volunteer for our next event?

  3. Closing survey:
    1. How would you assess your reading overall? I think I did very well. I had a goal of reading three books, two of which I wanted to finish. I finished those two books and decided to go further than originally planned with the third. In fact, I almost finished!

    2. Did you have a strategy, and if so, did you stick to it? I started off by reading a big ebook and my plan was to save my eyes a little by switching between the ebook and a physical book. However, as I got more immersed in the ebook, I knew I couldn’t switch to another until I was done with it. So, I just read one book after another.

    3. What was your favorite snack? I had a couple of sugar icing cups leftover from some Dominoes Cinnamon Twists on Friday. Those were definitely my favorite, even though they were just pure sugar.

  4. 1. How would you assess your reading overall?
It was really good. I managed to finish 5 books and made progress with 4 more 🙂 I just regret that I didn’t finish one of the books, but still I read for about 15 hours and half.

    2. Did you have a stategy, and if so, did you stick to it?
I did, and I almost did. My strategy was using audiobooks and keep moving to prevent me from sleep, but around Hour 21 my brain was no longer functioning and I couldn’t find the strenght to get up and do so.

    3. What was your favorite snack?
My sweet marzipan, that I actually fell asleep while eating.

    4. Wanna volunteer for our next event?
    For the first time… yes!

Thank you to everybody who makes this readathon possible. I really love it ❤

  6. Great readathon as always. Btw. have you changed the thing with door prizes and announcing winners on your site? Did not see a sign up for prize donations either. Maybe I just missed it.
