Still working on Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng
2. How many books have you read so far?
Still working on my first book! I also have an audiobook going.
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
I’d love to get to There’s Someone Inside Your House!
4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
I’ve had a few, either husband or dog related. I’ve tried to listen to my audiobook whenever I’m on the move!
5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
Last April was my first year participating, and I didn’t discover the challenges until pretty late in the day. I also didn’t track page numbers per hour, so it just felt like a normal reading day for me that lasted extra long. This year I’ve really embraced the challenges and the tracking, which is really fun! I try not to get to hung up on how little I’m ACTUALLY reading, because I read all the time independently; for me, it’s about the community today!

2) I’m in and out of three books and I hope that now my big interruptions of the first half of this are out of the way (school Fall carnival), I can do my reading in peace!!
3) I want to get to ‘The Misfortune of Marion Palm’ – I’ve been reading heavy stuff and I need some lighter.
4) MAJOR interruptions. I have a nine year-old, a partner that went and did his own stuff today, and a limping dog; my son had plans for the carnival but THEN his movie plans were canceled. I thought I’d get that time free by nooooo. I’m getting impatient honestly. And hungry.
5) I wish I could hole myself up in a hotel room to do it, honestly, because no one understands they just need to leave me alone!! And to feed me.

2. How many books have you read so far?

3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
I’m still doing blind date with a book so I don’t know what is in the queue. 🙂
4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
the fur kids constantly interrupt me. I have two deaf foster boys that hate each other and are constantly breaking out into fights so a few times I had to get up and break up a cat fight. Another of my fosters, Kirby, has anxiety and fear of abandonment after his former owners took him to a cat boarding facility with his buddy and never came back for him. Then his buddy got adopted quickly. So poor Kirby is always worried about being forgotten so he frequently interrupts me for reassuring snuggles. Of course I happily oblige him. I just switch to an audio book during these times.
5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
that I’ve finished so many books already!
