Hour 23 – Fight on and Conquer!

Welcome to Hour 23!!! This is Kate from Kate’s Book Nook. I will be your co-host for the last 2 hours. If you are just rejoining us for the remain couple of hours, I would like to say “Welcome back!” You have been missed.

I would like to take a moment to thank the wonderful hosts of this event, Andi and Heather. These are two of the most amazing people in the history. They spend nearly the full year planning the event for us and taking care of things that occurred after the last event. Without all their hard work, this event wouldn’t be half the one it is. Thank you, ladies. We all owe you so much!

Battle of the Genres – Survivor Style

In case you missed the last couple of update, let me briefly tell you what is going on here for the rest of the readathon. This year, during these last four hours, we are playing Survivor, Genre style. The contestants (16 of the top genres according to goodreads) are up for a vote on which genre is the preferred genre for readathoners. After each round of voting half of the contestants will continue to the next round and half will be eliminated. YOU ARE VOTING ON THE GENRES YOU LIKE THE LEAST! I will tally the votes at quarter to the hour so I have time to make the next poll. I hope that you all enjoy this and don’t take it too seriously. It is all meant to be in good fun.

We are now onto round 3 of voting. 75% of the genres have been voted off the shelf. But four of them are still holding out hope. For this round, you can vote for two genres you want eliminated from this competition. This uses the honor system, so please don’t select more than two. So pick the two genres you love the least. The options are up to you. But at a quarter till the top of the hour, only two will remain, so choose wisely!

Voted off the shelves:

  • Contemporary Fiction
  • Historical Fiction
  • Adventure
  • Children’s / Middle Grade
Round 3 – Please vote for your 2 LEAST favorite genres
