Read ton of shorter books rather than tackling Victorian novels.

  6. 19 minutes until the 24-hour Dewey’s Read-a-Thon. After my brunch of squids, egg and garlic it is time to settle in with a good book or three.

    1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
Berlin, Germany. 2pm start time in this part of the world.

    2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
I love every book in my stack. I just want to make progress toward the end of the bottomless TBR list.

    3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
Dates with black liquorice and peppermint tea.

    4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
I am a sound designer. Reading is my retreat for my overly-sensitive ears after a week of designing big explosions. (This is why audio books have no appeal for me.)

    5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
First read-a-thon. This should be recognised as some kind of international holiday.

    2) I haven’t actually decided on a stack of books, I’ll choose somewhat at random – or, more accurately, based on my mood.
    3) Brownies and ice cream
    4) I’m a blogger at labbens.blogspot.com – though I only blog in norwegian. I have cheated a bit today, as I have a few things to do this afternoon and will lose a few hours then, so I started three hours too early (11:00 in Norway). Have finished Dickens’ Hard Times and started It’s Not Rocket Science by Ben Miller. I think I will continue reading The Little Friend by Donna Tartt when the readathon officially begins.
    5) This is my first time participating in the Dewey readathon, but I did organize a norwegian readathon four years ago. I read for 22 hours then, and finished five (relatively short) books. I’ll probably try to read several different books this time as well.

Hello my name is Ellen, I’m 18 and I’m from Denmark. I love reading, though school has been so busy this term, so I haven’t had as much time to read as I’d like. Time to change that.

    5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
This is my second read-a-thon. Last time I read one book in the first 4-5 hours and then completely slacked for the rest of the read-a-thon. This time I’ll try to read more consistently.
