Hour 4

I always have reading companions. What about you? Do you have cute reading companions? Kids? Hubbies? Wiffeys? Kittehs? Pups? Lizards? Tell us about ’em. Hopefully they’re not tempting you to sleep!

Wysteria Wynk, a cute reading buddy!

Also, you guys phoenicis needs some help determining what language an inscription in her book is, and what it says, so if you’ve got some extra time (she thinks it’s a language of Scandinavian persuasion) head over and see if you can help out!
Well, this is my last hour with you. I’m handing it off to Young1, and this is her first time cohosting, so give her some love, will ya? It’s been great hangin’ out with you guys! Keep up the awesome reading!

  1. My reading friends include:
    1. Sam my 15 year old son.

2.Dodger the cat who looks like the cat in the picture at the top of this post and who keeps trying to steal my chair!

3.Molly–our cuddly little dog who is in heaven that we are just sitting around all day!

  2. My “companions” (more like saboteurs) are my animal ZooCrew: dog Zook, cats Fancy, Momma, Simon, Delilah, and Shotsie, Odie the lovebird and Eleanor the turtle (I know, I should have named her Myrtle the Turtle).

  3. Right now my husband and son have been keeping me company. I am sure before the day is up, my cat Frankie will be curled up in my lap! (I also have a stuffed animal – a bookworm – that my kids gave me :-> )

  4. I have this pillow in the shape of a hotdog that I’ve had since I was a kid. I love it because it’s the perfect shape to hug (or imagine this pose: put your head on one end, your legs hugging the other end, your book balanced on the middle!), and because its pillowcase is made of my favorite cloth material (I’m not sure what it’s called though!) which I just love to play with because of its texture! 🙂 It makes me a bit sleepy while reading, but its the most comfortable reading position I know. 🙂

  5. Two shih tsu’s are my reading companions but I use the term loosely…. one is 14 and one is 11 and they could care less if I was reading or dancing through the house in my pajamas to some blasting 80’s tune…. (errr…. not that I have ever done that….)

The only time they are interested is when there is food involved! 🙂

    Happy hour four!

  6. My reading companions are my two cats – Phoebe and Princess Saffy. They have been in the garden with me, on my lap, and generally cheering me on (they love it when I sit around reading, as they get to chill with me). Love ’em!

    Happy reading everyone! 🙂

  7. My youngest cat has been my constant reading companion this morning. She keeps coming over and meowing at me to make sure I am still fully awake and then demands a pet.

  8. I have right now David ‘Tenny’ Bear (my David Tennant ’10th Doctor’ teddy bear) and Mr. Bearie my Teddy Bear from childhood keeping me company! Though Appa from Avatar the Last Airbender is looking like he wants to jump in and Jack Raidou from Shin Megami Tensei Raidou Kuzonoha vs. King Abaddon wants to jump in as well…

  9. I’m at my parents’ house, so they are sort of my reading buddies. And there are their two dogs, who are very hyper, so I’m not likely to fall asleep with them around, though they can be a bit distracting.

  10. This is actually my first read-a-thon without companions! I miss my pets ever so much. Next time, I’m keeping my wee doggie close by my side for the full twenty-four hours.

  11. No reading companions for me unless you count my little stuffed pillbug I sometimes use as a pillow. I’ve got a friend coming by later today to spend the night, though, because his plumbing is out. I told him to bring a book because I’m not stopping to be a decent host.
